Rainforest Adventure Center Field Trip

Join herbalist Rachel Thomas on a unique voyage into the remote areas of Los Santos Forest Reserve, to the Rainforest Adventure Center. Experience field ethnobotany in a small group, visit a part of the jungle only accessible by foot and sleep in a traditional family-style lodge on a cliff above the Savegre River.

This guided field trip includes all transportation (from San Jose), meals, lodging and the following activities:

Rainforest hikes with Rachel Thomas, Albino Fonseca and other local herbalists

Traditional Costa Rican family-style meals

Chocolate making

Horseback riding

Wednesday 8 am  –  Depart from San Jose

(Lunch in San Isidro del General)

3 pm – Arrive Rainforest Adventure Center

Thursday

Off-trail hiking to see rare Wild Yam (Diosorea), Dragon’s Blood (Croton) and Copal (Protium)

Friday

Ziplining over and swimming in the prisine Savegre River

Sauna Ceremony

Saturday

9 am – Depart Rainforest Adventure Center

4 pm – Arrive San Jose
