Self-Care Training at Hidden Garden

You will learn a simple and effective self-massage technique that helps to activate the self-healing process of your body. The main goal of this type of self-massage is not the treatment of symptoms, although many complaints disappear by itself and your general health improves markedly. You will gain a better understanding of the Anatomy of the Abdomen and Pelvis area and learn more about the ancient Maya Techniques connecting mind, body and soul.

This 3-day class prepares the student to perform the Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy® on her/himself only. Self-Care, Level 1 is a prerequisite for enrolment in Professional Care Training for licensed healthcare professionals.

Completion of Level 1 Self Care Training is a prerequisite for enrolment to Level 2- Professional Care Training for health care professionals such as; Massage Therapists, Naturopaths, Midwifes, Gynaecologists, Acupuncturists, Chiropractors, Physiotherapists etc. The Arvigo Institute, LLC, is a CE provider for national professional organizations.

Self-Care, Level 1, is approved by NCBTMB for 17.5 CE hours in Massage Therapy, NCAAOM for 16 PDA points for Acupuncture, and MEAC for 17 CE hours for Midwifery. Anyone may register for this class; open to male and female from age 12 and older. No prior training or healthcare license is required.

Class fee is $458. Early Bird fee: If paid by March 30th, 2017 the class fee is $398. Nonrefundable $98USD deposit is required at registration with the remainder to be paid directly to the teacher.

4. ½ hour individual treatment
5. Learn the “self-care massage technique”

Unit 2

1. Homeostasis and balance, “The Vix medicatrix” Overview of body systems such as:
• bloodstream
• defense system
• nerve and energy pathways and the musculoskeletal system

2. Anatomy and Physiology of the female pelvic region including fertility cycles, etc.
3. Causes of deviations from the normal position of the uterus
4. Signs and symptoms of displaced reproductive organs in women
5. Repeat the “self-care massage technique”

Unit 3

1. Anatomy and Physiology (A & P) of the male pelvic region
2. Importance and signs and symptoms of Prostate pathology
3. Character armors by Wilhelm Reich – compared to the chakra system
4. Uterine/prostate Meditation

Unit 4

1. Overview of the upper abdomen and its organs
2. Nutrition and digestion
3. Medicinal herbs as supportive remedies
4. Repeat the “self-care massage technique”

Unit 5

1. Additional modalities
2. Bajos or steam baths, Fajas or wraps and castor oil packs
3. Spiritual healing practices of the Mayans, etc.

The workshop tuition includes an approx. 50 pages manual, meeting room, snacks and a 30 minutes personal evaluation and educational session with an Arvigo Practitioner.
